I'm currently creating the hair for my gnome. The eyebrows are able to move, I created blend shapes for each brow shape so they will match all of the movements of the brow area (as described in Jason Osipa's book). The beard is a work in progress. I was playing around with different types of brushes and then started painting the paint effects on and I created a "chop" by mere coincidence...thus, I had to create a pair of "chops" 'cause they make my gnome look so cool. I'll probably ditch the chops...but I was testing out the particular brush settings...I like how the chops look so I'll probably use that brush to create the entire beard. For now the beard can't move with the blend shapes...eventually I'll probably use wrap deformers to do that. I am hoping to set up some kind of small control system to allow me to shift the hair around a tiny bit. Once the beard is complete I'll move on to creating the hair on his head.

Uhh... dude, the chops rock. I love the hair. It looks a little like dog fur but it still rocks. The only thing I could say that bothers me is that it looks like a little kid went into his grandfathers attic and found some spirit glue and a fake beard. Besides that, the title is making me hungry. Good Stuff.
Hey dude,
Nice work. I like the eyebrows. The chops are pretty crazy. You should do a series of different beard styles for the Gnome hehe. Oh by the way, what is the Gnomes name? Also, what type of beard are you going to go for? My only comment is that I think the beard would look even better if it's a little less uniform around the edges. Hmm...I'm not sure how to explain it, but I guess just not as clean looking, but at the same time not too crazy, cause I kind of get the impression from the Gnome and his ways (though I don't know too much about him) that he likes to take care of his facial hair. Anyways, I can't really comment that much cause I haven't seen the final beard. But I can't wait!
