First off, I've been creating the blend shapes for my Gnome (For those that don't know 3d stuff...I'm basically starting to create facial shapes that will later combine with multiple shapes to make different emotions and allow my Gnome to speak).
Here are a few pics of some of those blends (These are merely for the mouth...there will be many more for the brows, nose and such that will all combine to make more complete expressions...just seeing the mouth might look odd).

Outside of the Gnome work...these next two images are the result of about 20-30 sketches of possible establishing shots for the intro of my next film...these were the two out of 7 large sketches that I chose...I'm thinking I'll probably pick the one with the waterfall in the background...again these are just sketches...I'm sure I'll change these around a little and add more depth and fix perspectives and such.

With that, I've also made changes to my gnomes cane. Before I had beads that hung from the top down to the handle....I looked at that for a while and didn't like it...I actually liked the sticks that twist around the bottom and wanted to mimic that element...I've crated two exhaust/tubes that will animate when the Gnome smokes from his pipe and smoke will come out of the bottom of the tubes.

That's it for now...comments are welcome...I'll post again...sooner than later this time.

Hey man, everything looks killer...I really like the color panel of the moonlit landscape. I agree, I like the one on top although I didn't spot the water fall until I read it in your description. Maybe give some highlights to pop it out a little (and differ the trees in the foreground). Other than that it all looks sweet.
Thanks a lot Tal. I agree with you on the comp image...I figure the water fall with be more obvious since it will be in 3d and you'll be able to see moonlight shimmering off the water...and everything will be slightly brighter.
Hey dude,
Great stuff. I like the composition of the top landscape a lot. I think it is very interesting. Everything is looking good. I can't wait to see more on the gnome story. Have you done a complete storyboard for it?

Sup Matt,
Yeah I have storyboarded an entire story(a whole lot pages). However, I'm throwing a huge chunk of that story out. It was early on and I didn't know my character/possible characters well at all. I've spent time since storyboarding re-thinking the story and doing complete backstories for characters...I'm still working out a lot of the details in my head before I write the script...I believe it will be very rewarding and it will show an obvious improvement over Grim Fetch. I've been studying a lot of films on the side (specifically funny shorts, and a lot of pixar movies to try and understand story telling elements better). Since I've already storyboarded once...and a lot of the images will be similar in landscape and compositions...I'll probably rewrite the script and draw out key shots, establishing shots or things that help me figure out the lay of the land.
Hey John, I get goose bumps and butterflys in my stomach when I see your work. Im excited to see your film come to life. I love the blendshapes, great deformations. The enviroment looks awesome, what did you paint it in? If you wanted help in the pushing of light, I could help you out, at least in painter. I can't wait to see more. Good stuff.
